Work like you don’t need the money. Love like you’ve never been hurt. Dance like nobody’s watching.
Satchel Paige
An oldy but a goody as they would say; a classic quote says it all about approaching and appreciating life as only a dancer can. Yesterday I did just this as I stepped outside in breezy Toronto Sunday morning air and proceeded to do some warm-up exercises (consisting of the typical developers, bend/stretches and leg swings) with my hand on our exterior railing leading the steps down to the sidewalk. Although not too many embraced the chill post-snowfall, there were a few mingling souls with coffees, newspapers, and of course your die-hard joggers with ipods running by. Although this exercise would have been superb indoors, with my PortaBarre set up and ready to go, it was fun for a change to realize no one was too disturbed or surprised by my friendly neighborhood dance class as I gracefully went to work in my small front yard. I say do what you love, do it wherever, because chances are it can only make someone else smile in approval – or at least amusement! Here I go, out again, Monday – for my new morning regime!
