A ballerina’s Christmas list

Recently running a silent auction for a New York hurricane relief event, I was beyond thrilled to receive a pair of autographed pointe shoes from the New York City Ballet. We auctioned them off in our “12 days of…” themed silent auction and they represented “11 ladies dancing.” Making for a lovely Christmas gift, there can only be one high bidder unfortunately. So what do you get the ballerina on your list?

If there is anything a ballerina needs more than pointe shoes, it’s bobby pins and hairspray. Making for excellent stocking stufffers, perhaps these and a new pair of pink tights are dropped off by Santa himself.

The three-day juice cleanse from BluePrint cleanse is also a super treat, delivered right to your door for a three-day supply of nutrients and enough correct calories to keep even a dancer going. It is a great way to cleanse out the body and pack it full of goodness. www.blueprintcleanse.com

Of  course, en-pointe.com offers a wonderful selection of dream gifts for dancers, including a portabarre and portafloore; want to really make their day? Wrap it up and tuck it under the tree, as it’s quite possible granted these items are made to fold up and tuck away – under beds, in closets or on the road.

The dancefloor itself comes with a carrying case and if that’s too out of budget, there’s always an exercise mat which makes for great warm ups and pilates usage.

The Rac n Roll bag is ideal for dancers en route to class, competition, performance or rehearsal, as it is incredibly spacious and sturdy.

Subscriptions to Dance Spirit or Dance Magazine, Backstage or Variety are always great, but don’t forget – a subscription to 5-6-7-8 blog is always free on www.en-pointe.com! Good luck shopping for your ballerina and happy holidays!
